OUR STORY
Background
Beat The Heat Victoria is a not for profit independently incorporated body which receives no funding or support from government or any policing organisation. Beat The Heat members are volunteers who are all employed within the Victorian emergency services sector. It is through the kind support of our sponsors both big and small, community volunteers and affiliated car clubs that allows us to successfully run this youth initiative. Thank you for helping us make a difference to the lives and futures of our younger generation.
OUR OBJECTIVE
SUPPORTING YOUTH TO STAY ON TRACK
A FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE DISSOLVE THE NEGATIVE
Beat The Heat Victoria team members are passionate about being positive role models and mentors for youth. We utilise best practice models for meaningful youth engagement, youth mentoring , mental health promotion, youth structured learning environments and 'asset based community development'. Asset based development focuses on 'whats going right' as a way of indirectly dissolving 'whats going wrong'.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITIES
Beat The Heat has maintained a strong focus in the Western region of Victoria in recent years and is an excellent example of how we build synergies with communities to positively influence the lives of youth. We partnered with local community groups, car clubs and businesses to build a multi-faceted mentoring program which focuses on positives and brings out the best in our youth.
